I love the recipes in this book! The directions are easy enough to follow. They even describe the level of effort, which is actually a nice touch. Time is a good notion, but difficult or complexity is nice to have some idea about. All the sections are set-up for different topics, and sub sections as well. Meats are given an overview and broken down into types, Beef, Lamb, Fish, etc.. Same for vegetable, desserts, and a couple other main categories. It's a softcover, not ring bound which would be nicer, but still a valuable tool for instant pot meals as a guide and resource. I enjoy using it and have had good success so far! I only wish there were images for all the dishes, not just a minimal number.

Every recipe we've made out of this book has been outstanding! The instructions are well suited to the instant pot and the results are fantastic. I have crunched the numbers on a few recipes and the nutritional information works out. but a few are misleading (0 grams of fat for turkey legs? unfortunately, no) I have the kindle edition and that is the one I would recommend. it seems the print version is missing page numbers. On the kindle edition you simply click the recipe you like and you are taken right to it. These recipes also focus on healthful ingredients. Highly recommended!

I'm a fan of meat dishes and soups. In this book at last I have found sensible and simple recipes for the preparation of both. Thank you very much for the book.

Finally, I received my Instant Pot from Amazon and the first thing I did was to buy this book of recipes. I immediately tried the recipes from the porridge section. They are very short and simple. Everything turned out all right. Next I will try recipes with meat, there are a lot of them. Then I want to try some more vegetarian, too. I think everyone should buy this book, because recipes are written down step by step so clearly.

For once, I found a recipe book of foods I would actually want to make! I got a ton of ideas from this book, and I bookmarked several to return to later on. I liked the way the recipes were arranged, and it was easy to find exactly what I needed.

Amazing!!! I never thought it would be possible to prepare so many arousing dishes with an instant pot. The recipes are very easy to make, which is a key element that I'm looking for in every cookbook I get, especially for someone lazy like me, when it comes to the kitchen ha ha. There's also a measurement conversion table in the beginning which is a life saver for every beginner level :)

I have mixed feelings about this two-book series.Pros: nice big books (8 1/2” x 11”); helpful descriptions of topography and geography; listings of sites and restaurants to visit on your own.Cons: spellcheck errors (no proofreader?); content is repeated in the first 24 pp of each book; pictures are all black & white; maps are barely decipherable.Despite the author’s claim, “I have included all of the ports of call visited by both the major cruise lines and the upmarket and adventure cruise companies,” three of the eight ports we will visit with Holland America in 2019 are not included (Eidfjord, Molde, and Skjolden).All of the text is in a bold font, which is distracting. I question why the author decided to issue this self-published content in two volumes. If the duplicate content was eliminated, the font was not in a bold face, and a few black & white snapshots were deleted (there are pages and pages of them), this would be an impressive single-volume compendium. But stretching the content into two volumes seems a bit like a money grab.

The book is not really "shop drawings" in the strictest meaning of the term, but it is filled with design details and advice on Craftsman style interior trim and built-ins that make it a must-have for those considering such a project. I left off the 5th star only because shop drawings would include fabrication instructions to be carried out in the shop, which are not there. A better title would be "Architectural Details for Craftsman Interiors". Very worthwhile, and I recommend it for anyone detailing the interior finish drawings.

There is not much in this book you cannot make with a good router table. It provides the missing links between the desire to recreate Arts & Crafts structures and doing so: design and dimension. But its more than that. If you are looking at this book, you probably already have the mindset that came with the whole Arts & Crafts movement, but if not, Lang does an excellent job of putting it in historical perspective in the introductory chapters on the movement itself and the key players, Stickley in particular. It wasn't just about design, but included an element of lifestyle that, as Lang offers, did not follow it on into the 20th century housing industry.You will need some basic woodworking skills to recreate these designs in practice, but nothing over the top. It is a very highly recommended resource and one should not hesitate to add it to his or her collection. Even if you simply appreciate Arts & Crafts design and don't plan to actually use the book to do specific work, you will learn enough to further your appreciation of the movement.Short of some needed proofreading for typos, it is a fantastic volume.

If you have read "Inside the Bungalow: America's Arts and Crafts Interior" and dream of DIYing some of the things you saw in it, get this book to see the general layout of typical pieces/constructs. Remember that all that you have seen was largely, and sometimes entirely, made with hand tools. With modern power tools--and not many of them--a patient DIYer can have a blast and make things of historical interest and lasting aesthetic appeal.

Very detailed instructions for building your own cabinets. My husband used the ideas for building our kitchen and bathroom cabinets. I love the traditional look of the craftsman style and this book contained loads of ideas.

I have been searching for a guide to the arts and craft interior know-how book, not just a lot of idea books which there are a plethora of on the book shelves. This book lays out the sizes of wood to use and the arrangements. I feel now that I can tackle the living room with confidence, something I didn't get with all those picture books of the classical Arts and Crafts interiors.

As an amateur finish carpenter, I found this book insightful and concise, I came away with more appreciation for the interior detailing than I had previously. I am inspired by both Craftsman and Japanese interior design and this book was very helpful with incorporating the ideas together for me.

Although I think I'll deviate a little from the construction drawings shown throughout this book, this title is a must have for anyone wishing to reproduce or recondition the look of Craftsman home interiors. I'm glad I bought it.

My husband tells me this book is educational and inspirational for his furniture-making hobby. Beautiful designs and details illustrated.

I purchased this book for my daughter, Sarah. She wrote in it and underlined words and left it a rag tag mess. After she passed away in a car accident when she was 16, I loved flipping through the pages seeing her thoughts and observations.

I purchased two of these books for different children, and each is using the book in their own ways to learn about the world in which they live. Not a day goes by that one or the other doesn't discover, on their own, something else amazing about the environment they occupy. Want to get your child away from the video games? Off the cell phone for hours at a time? Offer this book as a gift, and watch their knowledge grow page by page as they themselves become to authors of their own experiences in learning. These books are truly amazing, and do not have to be limited to children. Many bored adults who could use an inspiration that life doesn't have to be mundane can benefit from the use of this book. I recommend it for all ages and a book for each family member. If each one has his own book, discussions can begin at any time with everyone participating on different discoveries while the book has given each person the same suggestion for an 'assignment.' Fun and informative gift for anyone for any occasion.

This is a fun and colorful primer about how to go about questing in the world. I actually borrowed a copy from the public library and loved it so much that I bought it AFTER having read the library copy! I believe we have all gotten too serious (not to mention scheduled) in our lives and this book helps to bring back the fun, the child, the joy about looking at the world close-up and slowed-down.

Just ordered and perused briefly. Gave it as a gift to children who are on summer holidays. Also gave them a SmashFolio or scrapbooking journal, and so it seems this will aid them in observing their surroundings more purposefully, exploring more deeply and uniquely, and recording that suggested in this "How to Be an Explorer" book, in their new journals. I like the informal, handwritten font, which is much more captivating for kids and adults than monotonous font which they would never read all the way through. I am very excited to see what they do with their new book, and cannot wait to read it more in depth myself! I highly recommend it!

The book is full of 'explorations' - 50 in total - that motivate you to get up and explore the world right at your feet - you don't have to go far or even anywhere at all to learn something new.The layout is easy to follow, and has lots and lots of room for your own personal notes and reflections - which is what the book is all about - along with some inspirational quotes and facts to get you out and off the couch.Love Keri Smiths work - definitely recommend for designers or those who are simply curious about how people relate to their surroundings.

I got this for my niece (age 10) at first but once it came i quickly realized that it was much more suitable for an adult. I ended up giving it to a friend (that needed some serious help detaching herself from a very stressful job) and it was very well received. She was very excited to have a reason to "stop and smell the roses".

This is disappointing. Handwritten scribbles. A collection of one sentence quotes that are handwritten across two pages. This looks like a grade school student created this in an afternoon. Bought for a high school student and was too embarrassed to gift this to them. Would return, but the shipping costs as much as the book. Disappointed.

I love it because it really makes you stop and take a look around you. It is thought provoking and really a fun book for old and young. Makes a great gift also. Thdere is nothing not to like about the book except making the time to do the adventures.

I now understand why Dustin has been so good for my daughter.
