A good summary of Daniel's 70 weeks. If you find this interesting, I would suggest then buying a copy of"The Coming Prince: The Marvelous Prophecy of Daniel's Seventy Weeks Concerning the Antichrist" by Sir Robert Anderson. I have run the calculations along with reading historical accounts for the times involved and the premise seems to be correct. I find it hard to pin them down to an exact day due to discrepancies in historical accounts of events but to get the prophecy to year (and even to the month) is not difficult. Well worth looking into if you wish to study a verifiable fulfilled prophecy with calculation (up to the 69th week).
The doctrine of Daniel's 70 Weeks (from Daniel 9:24-27) is one of the more difficult to understand of the literalist dispensationalist prophetic interpretations. Most fundamentalists reject the gnostic formulas of the cults, date-setters, Bible code-breakers and numerologists who use them to come up with the daftest Biblical predictions imaginable while ignoring the often plain meaning of the scriptures. Yet when confronted with difficult passages like Daniel 9:24-27 (and others related to timeframes recorded in the prophets), fundamentalists have apparently achieved their own formulaic approach. But not so fast. Chuck Missler tackles the issue of Daniel's 70 weeks head-on in this wonderful, 98 page volume. This well-written book takes a look at both the scriptures and the historical timelines supporting the "69 weeks before leading 2,000 years later to the final remaining week in the latter times" concept that makes the doctrine fit the dispensationalist model. And he does so in a simple, easy to read narrative that will help anyone, especially Bible teachers, pastors and students of the Word, understand what the doctrine means and how it fits. I thoroughly enjoy Dr. Missler's writing style. Simple yet erudite. I never feel bogged down or let down by his prose. While I still might have a hard time explaining Daniel's 70 weeks off the top of my head, I feel very confident, after reading this book, that the doctrine is true and this book profitable to make one wise. Buy it. It's Highly Recommended.
Excellent read to understand the incredible book of Daniel. Anything written by Mr. Chuck Missler is sound doctrinally and robust in its background information. Daniel is a "Must Read" book for the times we live in as it clearly shows us gentile history like no other book. It also clearly shows us how God is in total control of All governments and uses leaders (saved and unsaved) to bring about His purposes of disciplining His children, Jew or gentile. If you are doing a study on Daniel, or just want to know what this Time-sensative book is all about, read Daniel's 70 Weeks by Chuck Missler. You will come away more informed than you would have thought possible.
This is one of the most concise and well presented books on that most important connection between the prophecies of Daniel and that that was and that which is unfolding today. I would encourage Christians to obtain this book and be lead through one of the most relative prophecies that is unfolding before our very eyes today. A source of certainty in a world currently writhing in a quagmire of disinformation and false news. This book will sharpen your discernment as a Christian today and give you an expectation of the greatest hope on our near horizon.

I never really took time to read the book of Daniel before. I had read parts of it to reference other studies such as Revelation. Now I am understanding how important it is for me to share the soon coming of our Lord and Savior JESUS Christ. It is time to pray and lovingly share with those who don't know Him. I have been reading my Bible for over 40 years - what a revelation. Thank YOU LORD
This is an overview of Daniel,and various other scriptures that tie in with it. Has some very interesting insights and observations. Not an argument in support of any current doctrine. Highly recommend this book for anyone interested in eschatology.
I bought this book to complement my textbook 'New American Commentary Vol. 18: Daniel' for my biblical prophecy course as I had an essay to write requiring additional sources. Overall I felt it was pretty accurate, and the parts I disagreed with weren't really doctrinal in nature. I would definitely recommend NAC V18 for an in-depth study of Daniel, but this is a really good overview and I like that it addresses our current issues and how Daniel is applicable. Missler is always informative and entertaining when it comes to eschatology, and I look forward to reading more of his work. I purchased the audio for an additional $1.99 and I believe it took about 3 hours as I read along, so it is a fairly short read.
